Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by 16 runs on Saturday (July 5) in the second 50-over match played at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Sri Lanka bowled Bangladesh out for 248 runs in 45.5 overs but failed to chase down the target of 249 runs despite half-centuries from wicketkeeper Kusal Mendis (56) and Janith Liyanage (78).
For the visitors, Tanvir Islam picked up five wickets for 39 runs in 10 overs, and two Sri Lankan batters were sent back to the pavilion by Tanzim Hasan Sakib.
Earlier in the first half, Parvez Hossain Emon (67) and Towhid Hridoy (51) scored half-centuries to help Bangladesh post a fighting total.
The third and final ODI is scheduled to take place at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele on Tuesday (July 8).
