Bangladesh will play two Tests against Sri Lanka from June 17.

The Test series marks both teams’ maiden campaigns in the 2025-27 World Test Championship.

The first Test will be played at Galle between June 17 and 21.

Then the action shifts to Colombo, where the second Test will be played between June 25 and 29.

The series will be followed by three ODIs on July 2, 5 and 8 and as many T20Is on July 10, 13 and 16.

The last time Bangladesh played Sri Lanka away from home in a Test series was in April 2021, when they lost 0-1.

Sri Lanka are undergoing a transition after two of their most senior cricketers, Dimuth Karunaratne and Angelo Mathews, retired from international cricket.

Dhananjaya de Silva, who captained Sri Lanka against Australia, is likely to retain the leadership for this series, though the squad is yet to be announced.

Najmul Hossain Shanto will continue as Bangladesh’s captain, having already delivered impressive results, including a historic 2-0 whitewash in Pakistan and a 1-1 draw in the West Indies.

Wicketkeeper Litton Das also made a comeback after missing the Zimbabwe Tests due to an injury.

Ebadot Hossain, who hasn’t played an international match since July 2023, has also been included.

Also returning are left-arm spinner Hasan Murad and fast bowler Nahid Rana.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Tanvir Islam and Mahmudul Hasan Joy, part of the Zimbabwe Tests, have all been left out.
