Sri Lanka’s national cricket team will donate its tour money and match fees from the ongoing Pakistan series to support relief efforts for communities affected by severe floods and landslides across the country, Head Coach Sanath Jayasuriya announced Friday.

Jayasuriya, issuing a statement on behalf of the players and support staff, said the team was deeply saddened by the unfolding humanitarian crisis and expressed solidarity with families who have lost homes and livelihoods in the disaster.

“The players and support staff are truly heartbroken by what our fellow Sri Lankans are going through. Our thoughts are with those impacted, and we hope this contribution will offer some immediate support,” he said.

He added that the team intends to expand its assistance upon returning to Sri Lanka, with additional relief efforts being planned to help affected communities.

Jayasuriya also urged the public to prioritize safety by adhering to official advisories and supporting one another during what he described as a challenging period for the entire nation.
