Minister of Agriculture, K.D. Lal Kantha, announced that the report from this year’s crop-damaging animal census will be received on March 28th.

He stated that the report may not be fully conclusive, and additional censuses will need to be conducted two or three more times to obtain clearer data.

The Minister also noted that animal management could be addressed through the wildlife census, allowing authorities to decide whether to export surplus animals abroad or take other appropriate measures.

He shared these views during a media conference held in Kandy.
