Dharmapriya Dissanayake, Kurunegala district parliamentarian of the ruling National People’s Power (NPP) stated that every MP requires a vehicle and an agreement has been reached already to provide vehicles for ministers.
Noting that it is still unknown what type of vehicle it will be, Dissanayake said that he cannot disregard the need to have vehicles in order to carry out the duties of MPs.
He said that a modern vehicle would be available to the MPs as all the old vehicles currently in the reserve vehicle pool are unfit for use.
The NPP lawmaker made these comments after participating in an observation tour of the Machinery and Equipment Authority in Kurunegala.
