Fuel distributors allege Govt efforts to sell CPC filling stations to foreign firms

The Petroleum Dealers’ Association has raised concerns over the government’s alleged attempts to transfer filling stations owned by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) to foreign companies.

Kusum Sandanayake, the Association’s Vice-Chairman, said that the government is making various moves in this direction.

Sandanayake also said that they will be submitting a memorandum at the Presidential Secretariat this morning (03) to request a reduction in the 3% commission currently imposed on filling station owners.

LIOC distributors halt orders

Meanwhile, distributors of Lanka IOC fuel have decided to halt fuel orders. 

The company’s Chairman, Kosala Vidanaarachchi, explained that due to pressure from the CPC, they are facing a loss of Rs. 35,000 per order.
