Pardoned man funded NPP at elections, claims SJB MP

The person from Anuradhapura who controversially received a presidential pardon is said to have funded the National People’s Power (NPP) at recent elections, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Rohana Bandara alleged.

People of the area believe that he had been included in the list of persons to receive a common pardon due to that.

Bandara told the media in Anuradhapura that the government cannot wash its hands off the matter by blaming it on officials.

It has a responsibility to clarify the doubt in the public mind, he added.
