Air quality in several parts of Sri Lanka has fallen to unhealthy levels, real-time Air Quality Index (AQI) data shows.
Several areas, including Chilaw, Digana, Kaduruwela, Akaragama, Hungama, Akkaraipattu, as well as parts of Jaffna and Colombo, are experiencing elevated pollution levels, raising health concerns for children, the elderly, and those with respiratory conditions.
Authorities are advising the public to limit outdoor activities, keep windows closed, and wear protective masks when venturing outside to reduce exposure to harmful air pollutants.
