Bandaranaike Foundation donates Rs. 250 million to support post-Ditwah rebuilding

The Bandaranaike Memorial National Foundation has contributed Rs. 250 million to the government to assist national recovery efforts following the emergency situation triggered by Cyclone Ditva.

The donation was handed over to Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya yesterday at the Prime Minister’s Office. 

Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, who serves as Chairperson of the Foundation, presented the cheque alongside members of the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Following the handover, Prime Minister Amarasuriya and the former President held a brief discussion regarding ongoing recovery needs and the Foundation’s support for rebuilding efforts.

Secretary to the Prime Minister Pradeep Saputhanthri, Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi, and representatives of the Foundation’s Board were also present at the event.
