Pivithuru Hela Urumaya (PHU) leader Udaya Gammanpila says he has been informed in writing by the Digital Ministry the agreements signed with India cannot be made public without that country’s consent.
Speaking to the media, he said he sent letters to the respective ministries under the right to information act, seeking copies of the seven pacts signed with India on 05 April.
Only the Power and Finance ministries have sent him copies of the oil tank development and electricity connection agreements, and the eastern province development agreement, he said.
He said what India should conceal is only its internal affairs affecting that country’s national security.
The biggest issue in this government is that the institutions under it act in a manner that contracts each other, said Gammanpila.
