Former MP Patali Champika Ranawaka has asserted that the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) is nearing its end under the leadership of Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa.
In a recent televised interview, Ranawaka compared the SJB with the decline of other major political parties and predicted that the party would face the same fate as the United National Party (UNP), the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), and the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), which have all experienced significant setbacks in recent elections.
He also accused Premadasa of suppressing internal dissent and adopting a political strategy that sidelines individuals seen as potential threats to his leadership.
Ranawaka noted the SJB’s failure to honour electoral agreements with the United Republican Front during the last general election as further evidence of internal dysfunction.
