The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has recalled an arrest warrant issued earlier today for former state minister Diana Gamage after she failed to appear for court proceedings related to immigration law violations.

The warrant, issued by Colombo Chief Magistrate, was recalled after Gamage appeared in court later in the day, submitting a motion for her absence.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has filed seven charge sheets against Gamage, accusing her of staying in Sri Lanka without a valid visa and providing false statements to immigration authorities. These charges stem from an investigation into allegations that she obtained a Sri Lankan passport using false information.

Gamage was previously arrested and released on bail last year in connection with the passport allegations. Her case has garnered significant attention due to the serious nature of the charges and her former role as a state minister.
