Sriyani Kulawansa appointed chairperson of National Sports Selection Committee

Olympian and veteran athlete Sriyani Kulawansa has been appointed as the Chairperson of Sri Lanka’s National Sports Selection Committee (NSSC), following a decision by Sports Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage.

The appointment letters for Kulawansa and the other seven members of the newly formed NSSC were officially handed over during a ceremony held at the Ministry of Sports in Colombo.

The members of the new committee are;

  • Sriyani Kulawansa – Chairperson
  • Maj. Gen. Ravi Pathiravithana  Secretary
  • Major Rajitha Samarasekera – Coordinating Officer
  • Ruwan Perera – Deputy Director of Sports at Sussex College
  • Suresh Subramaniam – Chairman of the National Olympic Committee
  • Anuradha Ileperuma – Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Sports
  • Kamal Gamlath – Sports Officer at the Ministry of Sports
  • Jayamini Illeperuma – Hatton National Bank
