Political activist Dan Priyasad has succumbed to gunshot injuries following a shooting incident that occurred around 9:10 p.m. on the top floor of the Laksanda Sevana apartment complex in Wellampitiya yesterday (22).
According to reports, two unidentified individuals arrived on a motorcycle, opened fire at the location, and fled the scene.
Initial police investigations confirmed that a pistol-type firearm was used in the attack.
Priyasad was critically injured in the shooting and was initially reported dead by the Police Media Spokesperson last night. However, a subsequent statement clarified that he was still alive but in critical condition and receiving treatment at the hospital.
By this morning, the Police Media Division confirmed that Dan Priyasad had died while receiving medical care.
