Namal indicted over Rs. 70 Million misappropriation allegation, granted bail

The Colombo High Court today (18) served indictments against Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa over alleged misappropriation of Rs. 70 million.

The funds in question were provided by Krrish Company for the development of rugby in Sri Lanka.

The indictments were handed over before High Court Judge Manjula Thilakaratne.

Following the proceedings, Rajapaksa was released on two surety bails of Rs. 10 million each, along with a cash bail of Rs. 100,000.

The pre-trial hearing for the case has been scheduled for 27 March 2025.
