SLPP national organizer Namal Rajapaksa says he is among the type of men who do well in life thanks to their wives.
According to him, the family of his wife is a good business family than his own.
Achieving progress because of the wife is due to ‘merit’, said Rajapaksa.
He compared the assets of the government ministers who levelled accusations and complaints against him with those of his own.
They have got the assets of his wife mixed up with his own, said Rajapaksa, adding that her family has been in business for more than 40 years, whereas he was aged only 39 now.
Everything including what he has inherited from his parents has been declared and there are no illegal acquisitions or banned businesses under him, he said.
Being a lawyer, he has made earnings from his consultancy services, he said further.
He challenged his accusers to declare how they have amassed their own wealth.
Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe who complained against me is richer than me, added the SLPP national organizer.
