22,450 institutions default on EPF instalment payments

The Ministry of Labour has identified as many as 22,450 state and private sector institutions that have defaulted the instalment payments of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) in lieu of their employees.

The heads of these institutions are presently being consulted with regard to meeting the payments, said Deputy Labour Minister Mahinda Jayasinghe.
