From unforgettable wildlife encounters and cultural discoveries to wellness escapes, adventure experiences, and hidden local gems, Sri Lanka offers countless ways to experience the island beyond the ordinary. Now, a new homegrown travel platform is being developed to help travellers discover more of what makes Sri Lanka special.

Lanka Pass, a new Sri Lankan travel platform, is designed to bring the island’s diverse experiences, attractions, and tourism businesses together, making it easier for international visitors to explore, connect, and make the most of their time in Sri Lanka.

More than just a way to discover tours and excursions, Lanka Pass aims to make travelling around the island more rewarding. Alongside curated experiences, the platform will bring together exclusive discounts, savings, additional benefits, and useful travel content, including guides and audio guides, helping visitors get more out of every stage of their journey.

A new way to experience Sri Lanka

As Sri Lanka’s tourism industry continues to grow, the way travellers discover and plan their holidays is increasingly moving online. With visitors looking for convenient ways to find authentic experiences and make informed travel choices, digital platforms are creating new opportunities to connect travellers with the businesses that bring a destination to life.

Sri Lanka welcomed more than 2.36 million international tourists in 2025, surpassing its previous 2018 benchmark. Against this backdrop, Lanka Pass aims to create a more connected way for visitors to explore the island while helping local tourism operators reach a wider international audience.

From adventure and wildlife operators to cultural experiences, wellness providers, guides, and independent businesses, the platform is being built to showcase the breadth of Sri Lanka’s tourism offering in one accessible place.

Proudly Sri Lankan, built for the world

At the heart of Lanka Pass is a distinctly local vision. Proudly built and operated in Sri Lanka, the platform’s technology, operations, and partnerships are managed locally, with a focus on connecting international travellers with the people, places, and experiences that make the island unique.

“Lanka Pass came from seeing an opportunity to better connect travellers with the local tourism ecosystem by experiencing similar platforms in Europe and the US,” said Lanka Pass Founder Kasun Perera. “There are so many incredible businesses and experiences across Sri Lanka, and we wanted to create a platform that makes them easier to discover while also giving local operators an opportunity to reach more travellers.”

A CIMA-qualified finance and analytics professional, Perera has worked across Sri Lanka and the UK and currently works in London at a leading investment bank. His experience abroad helped shape the idea for Lanka Pass and its vision for a more connected way to experience Sri Lanka.

Building a more connected travel experience

As preparations for launch continue, Lanka Pass is building its first network of local experience providers and tourism partners across the island. The ambition is to make discovering Sri Lanka simpler, more accessible, and more rewarding for international visitors, while creating greater opportunities for the local businesses behind the experiences they enjoy.

By bringing experiences, exclusive offers, and useful travel resources together, Lanka Pass aims to help visitors look beyond the familiar and discover more of the island, while ensuring that more of the value generated by tourism reaches local businesses and communities.

For travellers planning their next Sri Lankan adventure, a new way to explore the island is on the horizon.
