Hameedia, one of Sri Lanka’s leading menswear brands took a significant step toward addressing men’s mental health when the brand launched a podcast series titled “Real Men, Real Talk”, with the inaugural episode featuring a panel of experts discussing the often-overlooked topic of men’s mental wellness.

Moderated by Fouzul Hameed, Managing Director of Hameedia, the launch episode hosted an engaging discussion with Yasas Hewage (Entrepreneur, Sales, Marketing & Passion Coach, and Cycling & Sustainability Promoter), Ajai Vir Singh (Founder of Colombo Fashion Week and the College of Fashion & Design), and Dr. Suneth Rajawasan (MBBS, MCGP, Family Physician, and Director of The Family Clinic).

The panel delved into a range of important topics, including the stigma men face when seeking help for mental health issues, why men often neglect their mental well-being, and strategies for effectively balancing work and life. They also discussed tips for maintaining an active, fit, and healthy lifestyle, the significance of mindfulness, the pursuit of life purpose, and the vital role family and friends play in supporting men’s mental health.

Fouzul Hameed emphasized the importance of addressing mental health as an integral part of overall well-being, saying, “At Hameedia, we believe that true strength comes from within. Men’s mental health is often overlooked, but it’s time we break the silence and foster open conversations.”

“Real Men, Real Talk’ is our way of encouraging men to seek help, embrace wellness, and lead more fulfilling lives. We plan to continue these discussions with monthly episodes featuring prominent figures from various fields who will share their expertise and insights on these critical matters.”

The “Real Men, Real Talk” podcast series aims to extend this legacy by addressing the issues men face in their personal lives, fostering awareness, and providing practical solutions for mental health challenges. This initiative underscores Hameedia’s commitment to not only dressing men for success but also empowering them to lead balanced, healthy, and fulfilling lives.

For 75 years, Hameedia has been the trusted companion for Sri Lankan grooms, helping them find the perfect look for their big day. From accessories to clothing, Hameedia’s experts carefully consider each groom’s unique physique to create a bespoke mix-and-match ensemble that enhances their individual style.
