In an inspiring display of strength and determination, Sri Lanka’s oldest competitive bodybuilder, Nishantha Perera, has claimed another gold medal at the prestigious Global Powerlifting and Bodybuilding International (GPBI) championship held in Dubai.

Competing against athletes from around the world, the 60-plus-year-old Perera dominated the over-60 age category, securing the top podium spot in one of the sport’s most recognized global competitions.

His achievement is a testament not only to his personal discipline and perseverance but also to Sri Lanka’s growing presence in international bodybuilding and powerlifting circuits.

In addition to his gold medal, Perera also brought home a silver in the highly competitive 75 kg weight class, proving that age is no barrier to elite athletic performance.
