Investigations are ongoing independently into the Easter Sunday attacks, and the people will shortly know the culprits, said minister Wasantha Samarasinghe.

Appropriate action in that regard will be taken by the judiciary and other relevant institutions, he told journalists following a function.

Samarasinghe pledged proper punishment under the present regime for those behind the attacks.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake had previously stated that efforts are underway to reveal the names of a significant number of people behind the Easter Sunday attacks before the 21st of April.
