MP Chamara Dassanayake arrested

Badulla District MP of the New Democratic Front (NDF), Chamara Sampath Dassanayake, has been arrested by the Bribery Commission.

Dassanayake arrived at the Bribery Commission to give a statement this morning over three corruption charges, including an irregularity that occurred during his tenure as the Chief Minister of Uva Province.

The Bribery Commission said the MP will be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today.
