Opposition complains to president against “monitor in the House”

Several opposition MPs have complained to president Anura Kumara Dissanayake against a senior minister who disregards their requests in the House and urged him to stop him from doing so.

This minister treats the opposition unfairly and thinks himself to be the “monitor of the class”, they alleged.

MP Dayasiri Jayasekara said the matter was brought to the president’s attention at the conclusion of the recent all-party conference by Dr. Harsha de Silva, Shanakiyan Rasamanickam, himself and other MPs.
