The Ministry of Energy states that they have decided to impose a one-hour power cut today (13).

Accordingly, the Ceylon Electricity Board said that the power cut will be imposed in different zones under 04 categories between 5.00 p.m. and 9.30 p.m. today (13).

This step is being taken due to the fact that the Norochcholai Power Plant is currently unable to meet the demand due to the lack of electricity production connected to the national grid.

However, engineers are confident that all the generators at the Norochcholai Power Plant will be operational Saturday.

The power cut schedule can be found here.
