Power outage interrupts event attended by Energy Minister in Jaffna

A brief power outage occurred yesterday(30) during a meeting in Jaffna attended by Minister of Energy, Kumara Jayakody.

The incident took place shortly after the Minister assured attendees that Jaffna would receive a continuous 24-hour electricity supply.

The power disruption happened during a special discussion organized by the Engineers’ Division of the National Intellectuals Organization at a private guesthouse.

The event was interrupted while Deputy Minister of Digital Economy, Eranga Weeraratne, was delivering his speech, though power was restored afterward.

The Jaffna office of the Ceylon Electricity Board confirmed that a brief outage had affected parts of the region this evening.
