Underworld infighting intensified due to covert crackdown – Deputy Minister

The government is covertly cracking down on the underworld without advertising it through promotions such as ‘Yukthiya’ of the past, said deputy minister Chathuranga Abeysinghe.

As a result of this, fighting has increased among criminal gangs for their survival, he claimed.

Curbs on the underworld without informing the media have intensified the infighting which is seen today, he added.
