13,000 complaints over Onmax DT scam

The Attorney General informed the Colombo Magistrate’s Court yesterday (05) afternoon that more than 13,000 people who were caught in the Onmax DT large-scale pyramid scheme have filed complaints with police stations across the island.

Senior State Counsel Oswal Perera, appearing for the Attorney General, informed Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali that more than 13,000 such complaints have been received at police stations from among the large number of people caught in the Onmax DT pyramid scheme. 

He also informed that complaints are still being received.

The State Counsel informed that investigations into the relevant complaints are being conducted under 04 categories on the instructions of the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, and that a team of special officers has been assigned for that purpose.
