Engineers and technical staff of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) and its affiliated institutions restored electricity supply across Sri Lanka with remarkable speed after Cyclone Ditwah caused extensive damage to the national power system.

The cyclone and subsequent flooding and landslides severely disrupted transmission and distribution networks, leaving multiple regions without power.

Despite hazardous conditions and widespread destruction, CEB crews worked around the clock to repair damaged lines, replace equipment and stabilize the grid, enabling an uninterrupted supply to be restored faster than initially projected.

LTL Holdings, a major player in the country’s energy sector, publicly commended the workers for their efforts, noting the dedication shown during one of the most challenging disaster responses in recent years.

In a video statement, the company expressed its appreciation for an exceptional service performed under severe and often unsafe conditions.
