Lanka Indian Oil Corporation (Lanka IOC) and Sinopec have increased the price of Octane 95 petrol by Rs. 20 per litre, effective from midnight Wednesday (4).

With the latest revision, the price of a litre of Octane 95 petrol at both fuel distributors has risen from Rs. 495 to Rs. 515.

The price adjustment will apply to all Lanka IOC and Sinopec filling stations across the country.

The latest increase comes amid continuing pressure on domestic fuel prices, partly reflecting fluctuations in international petroleum markets and rising import costs.

Fuel prices in Sri Lanka have come under renewed scrutiny in recent months as global oil market movements and geopolitical developments have affected the cost of importing petroleum products.

Lanka IOC and Sinopec operate alongside the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) in Sri Lanka’s fuel distribution market. Their pricing adjustments are closely monitored by motorists, particularly as changes in fuel costs can have wider implications for transportation expenses and the cost of living.

The latest announcements specifically concern Octane 95 petrol, with the revised prices taking effect from midnight on November 4.
