Former president Ranil Wickremesinghe is the politician in Sri Lankan society to have propagated neoliberalism and furthermore, he has a vision of his own, said minister K.D. Lalkantha.
On the other hand, one of his predecessors Mahinda Rajapaksa has no knowledge on that nor a vision and depended solely on society for his existence, he said.
Lalkantha was addressing a seminar organized by the National People’s Power.
Speaking further, he said no unlimited recruitments to the state sector should be carried out any longer.
The state needs to mediate in ensuring the generation of employment opportunities in the private sector, he added.
