The General Secretary of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), Tilvin Silva, said that the National People’s Power (NPP) government is the only government in Sri Lankan history that has fulfilled the promises it made.

He said that no previous government has done the same.

Silva pointed out that when the NPP government assumed office, the economy had collapsed, and people were standing in long queues for fuel.

He further said that his government inherited a country that was unable to repay its debts and where many citizens couldn’t afford three meals a day.

He emphasized that since coming to power, the government has stabilized the economy and is delivering on the promises made to the people.

He shared these views while addressing a public meeting held in support of the local government elections.
