Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Namal Karunaratna has requested farmers to bring their paddy stocks to government-owned storage facilities.

Karunaratna said that aside from the certified price of paddy, farmers would receive an additional Rs. 2 for every kilogram of paddy brought in.

He made these comments after conducting an observation tour of the Amblipitiya paddy storage complex.
