The heads of four institutions coming under the Plantation and Community Infrastructure Ministry have been removed from their positions.

The institutions in question are the Coconut Cultivation Board, Palmyra Development Authority, Janatha Estate Development Board and the Cashew Corporation.

Removing the heads of several other institutions coming under the ministry is also under consideration.

An audit has found the Cashew Corporation chairman has had several unaccounted-for expenditures.

The JEDB chairman, also the manager of a five-star hotel, was in the habit of reporting late for work and accused of not cooperating with the director board.
