Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development, Wasantha Samarasinghe, vowed that all individuals involved in fraud and corruption would be brought to justice before the end of the current administration’s term.

Speaking at a public meeting in Ehetuwewa recently, Minister Samarasinghe assured attendees that the government is committed to taking decisive action against misconduct in public service.

“I guarantee that by the end of our five-year tenure, all the thieves will be jailed,” the Minister said.

He further emphasized the moral weight of financial misconduct, stating, “If you steal the people’s money, that’s like stealing from God. We will not leave it to the next generation to end fraud and corruption.”
