Online child sexual abuse on the rise

The Global School Health Survey conducted on schoolchildren has revealed an increase in the number of children subjected to sexual abuse.

According to the survey, 6.9 percent of children have been victims of sexual abuse on digital platforms.

The survey was conducted in 2024 by the Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization, and the Family Health Services Bureau, focusing on children aged 13-15.

It was also revealed that 6.1 percent of children have been forced into unwanted sexual activities.

Additionally, 4.7 percent of girls and 7.5 percent of boys have been affected.

The survey further revealed that 10.1 percent of children have experienced violence related to dating relationships.
