Over 37,000 vehicles registered in first 3 months

The Department of Motor Traffic reports that 37,463 new vehicles were registered in Sri Lanka during the first three months of this year.

According to the latest data, motorcycles accounted for the majority of new registrations, totaling 32,902 units.

Other vehicle categories registered in the first quarter include:

  • Motor cars – 530
  • Dual-purpose vehicles – 939
  • Tractors – 1600
  • Buses – 114
  • Hand tractors – 182
  • Lorries, trailers, and bowsers – 104
  • Three-wheelers – 185
