Sri Lanka records nearly 2,000 road deaths in 2024

Sri Lanka has recorded 1,960 road fatalities so far this year, police revealed at a special media briefing held in Colombo on Saturday (20).

The fatalities were recorded across the island between January 1 and September 17.

According to police, a total of 1,843 fatal accidents were reported during this time. In addition, 3,708 serious accidents were also recorded.
