Naveen appointed as UNP Deputy Chairman

Naveen Dissanayake has been appointed as the new Deputy Chairman of the United National Party (UNP).

This was approved at the party’s working committee meeting held on Friday (14).

The appointment was made by party leader and former President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Naveen Dissanayake previously held ministerial portfolios of Sports, Tourism, and Plantation Industries and was also the Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council.

During yesterday’s working committee meeting, it was also decided to expand the leadership tier of the party to include more youth and professionals.
