Former Provincial Councillor and Gampaha SJB organizer Waruna Rajapaksa has claimed that discussions are currently underway between a close associate of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe and opposition Members of Parliament regarding the formation of a new government.

Issuing a statement on YouTube, Rajapaksa claimed that several MPs representing the ruling National People’s Power (NPP) are said to be involved in the ongoing dialogue.

Rajapaksa stopped short of naming individuals but stated that he is in possession of credible information suggesting that political negotiations are actively taking place and that MPs from multiple districts are reportedly part of these discussions.
