Postal votes will send strong message to Govt – Namal

The National Organiser of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), Namal Rajapaksa, has asserted that public servants exercising their right to postal voting in the upcoming local government elections will deliver a strong and clear message to the National people’s Power (NPP) government.

“Public servants have been unfairly labelled as thieves, fraudsters, and lazy under the cover of parliamentary privileges,” Rajapaksa said, condemning what he described as an unjust narrative surrounding state sector employees.

He made these comments speaking to the media following a series of campaign events in Walapane, Ragala, and Nuwara Eliya, Rajapaksa highlighted the political significance of the postal voting process.

He further alleged that the current administration is undermining the public service, claiming that 43 senior government executives and several police officers have already been transferred, suggesting retaliatory measures linked to political motivations.
