The government, which releases various lists every week, caused a stir by publishing the list of MPs who received compensation for property destroyed or damaged in the unrest that erupted during the ‘Aragalaya’ period in 2022, United Republic Front leader and former minister Patali Champika Ranawaka.

However, he said that the government has not yet released the list of those responsible for destroying properties.

Ranawaka claimed that if the list were made public, the names of ruling party members in the Parliament would also be revealed.

He also said that the Inspector General of Police is in possession of that list, adding that he has requested Minister Bimal Ratnayake to reveal it to the public.
