AKD and Ranil creating a pseudo-opposition

Leader of the Sarvajana Balaya and Member of Parliament Dilith Jayaweera says that in order to steer the country towards a system of one-party rule, a pseudo-opposition is being created to replace a genuine opposition.

He said the so-called Joint Opposition rally scheduled to be held on November 21 under the auspices of Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Ranil Wickremesinghe, is precisely such a construct.

He alleged that prior to the presidential election, a UK-based company had conducted a survey with then-candidate President Ranil Wickremesinghe, which reportedly confirmed that Anura Dissanayake would ultimately secure victory in the election.

Jayaweera claimed that Wickremesinghe’s objective was not to defeat Sajith Premadasa, but rather to ensure either his own or Dissanayake’s win, fulfilling his political ambitions through this strategy.

He revealed these claims during an interview with an online news channel.
